Images I like, places I've been.

Since I'm a photographer I always carry a camera...always. You just never know when that next great shot is going to fall in your lap so I like to  be ready.  Lately I've been carrying two point and shoot cameras as I have gotten tired of dragging my big DSLR around and besides, 99% of what I shoot anymore is for the web so why not make things a bit easier for myself?  So, my new photography "quiver" has been carefully narrowed down to two cameras. My Leica Digilux 5 and my Pentax Optio 90 and one of them is with me every single place I go!

My wife bought me the Leica for Christmas and I honestly don't think I have left the house without it since I got it!  I love this thing!  The color is amazing and the images are just...well stunning.  It is small and very lightweight and with the little accessory handgrip it's a dream to work with.  I also have the electronic viewfinder on it which I think is kinda spiffy.  Looks neat if nothing else.  For all my "off shore" photography I use the Pentax as it is waterproof so I can do those crazy rolling videos I'm know for.  But I just wanted to share some of what I've been pointing them at lately.  I know, I know, not my usual gritty b&w street photography but for now it all suits me just fine. Enjoy!

Lately I've been focusing on close-ups of flowers. I
just love the rich, vibrant colors!

Another beautiful one.

Clouds really impress me. They are huge and beautiful and
I just love how the light plays on them.

Point Mugu, California on a very windy day!

Another favorite from Point Mugu, California

Beach scene. Point Mugu, California

Sunset from Dockweiler State Beach, California.

I love the Coast Guard.  Every time they fly over me when
I'm kayaking I do a roll in their honor.  I just think that
they must have the coolest job in the world!
